Raja Bazar lies on the Bailey road and is an established commercial center on Bailey road in Patna. Raja Bazar is surrounded by other colonies viz. Sheikpura, Ashiana Nagar, Rukanpura.  IGIMS too shares it boundary with Raja Bazar. On western side it touches Ashiana Digha road too. It is about 7kms from Patna railway station and 2 kms from Patna airport. It is only one and half kilometers away from Botanical garden. 

On the bailey road side Raja Bazar is the main commercial center in western Patna. It matches any other commercial centers of Patna. A large number of retail outlets of all sizes and brands as well as a large number of offices are located in Raja Bazar. A new modern hospital called Paras HMRI (erstwhile hai medical center) is functional in Raja Bazar. Hazarat Belal Mosque is located in this colony. Bihar Institute of Law falls in Raja Bazar.

Along with Ashiana Nagar, Raja Bazar signifies the initial expansion of Patna towards it western frontier on Bailey Road and now this expansion has reached Khagaul.
